We aim to provide students with the competencies they need to succeed in the hospitality industry through theoretical courses (30%) and hands-on training at SPOONS Cafe Restaurant and at our hospitality partners’ enterprises.

Green Skill in Tourism & Hospitality

Supported by Organisation internationale de la Francophonie (OIF)

This project addresses the urgent need for sustainability in the tourism industry, heightened by the impacts of COVID-19. It equips tourism and hospitality educators with the knowledge and skills to integrate green skills into their training programs. Recognizing the labor-intensive nature of the sector, the project emphasizes that a skilled workforce is crucial for implementing sustainable practices and meeting the rising demand for responsible travel. By training future workers and promoting green practices, educational institutions can drive the industry's transition to a more environmentally responsible model. The training covers key areas and targets 11 trainers and 150 students and will be delivered in two phases, 75 students by December 2024, and 75 by April 2025 (60 of them are female).

Our Program Overview

Students Recruitment

A thorough home visit is conducted every August to assess shortlisted candidates and determine their individual needs. This ensures we select students who will truly benefit from our program. The selected cohort commences training in January of the following year.

Alumni Support

SPOONS Cambodia Organization is supporting alumni by providing them a three-month short course such as English class for hospitality, personal development and job placement training.

Social Enterprise

We are running SPOONS Café & Restaurant as a social enterprise where students can further their education by applying their knowledge in a real-life setting. The profit from this social enterprise also raises funds for our student programs.
